Our Vision
Our mission is to provide access to wilderness and the knowledge skills and abilities that come from building relationships with the Land.
Our goal is that through access we can foster the kind of deep love and understanding of wild spaces that lead to conservation, that students build connections with each other, their community, and our remaining wild spaces so that students leave our programs with greater knowledge both of themselves and the Land and the confidence to be strong advocates for both.
Our organization aims to support the community of the Wimberley Valley through leading day classess and backcountry expeditions in small group settings for participants and providing them with the skills they need to continue pursuing adventure and connection to the natural world as they move forward in life.
The Wilderness teaches leadership skills, tolerance for adversity and uncertainty, confidence, the strength that comes with self-knowledge, self- reliance, resilience and grit. We equip the next generation for the Wild.
Our aim is to send students home as stewards of wild land who are committed to re-building the connection to the land and the ancestral skills that belong to all humans -skills which are being lost due to lives tied to urban spaces, screens and the demands of an ecconomic structure not alligned with what it means to be truly human- we would love you to join us.
