Weekly Programs for Kids

Adventure Collective Weekly Program (7-11)
$1,025.00

The LandWise Adventure Collective is our youth initiative offering outdoor education and wilderness skills instruction for kids and teens.

Adventure Collective programs for kids are full-day, deep nature connection and skill building for ages 7-11. Groups meet in Wimberley on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Drop off is open between 8:30 and 9:15, and pick up is open between 3:30 and 4:00. These days offer a slow pace and natural rhythms that align with exploration, child-led adventure and learning, and body confidence through play. The curriculum focuses on nature education and outdoor skills like carving, fire building, wildlife tracking, flint knapping and adventure. Storytelling, songs, and intentional community along with active risk management make our program vibrant, engaging, safe, and fun. All program days are outdoors and group size is limited.

Registration is by semester with Fall running mid-August to December and the Spring semester running January-May.
Our program roughly follows the Wimberley ISD calendar. The cost is $185/month.

Priority Enrollment is open now with a $100 non-refundable registration fee which will be used for the participant's t-shirt, fire kit and flint knapping starter set. Participants will need closed-toed shoes, lunch, a water bottle and weather-appropriate clothing. Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended.

As part of registration there are required forms that include the cancellation and refund policies, medical forms and waivers. Please Review them carefully. Registration is not finalized until they are completed. Once your registration is complete you will receive the student parent handbook, inclement weather and risk management policy book, and student information sheets.

Teen Wilderness Leadership Training Course- Weekly Program
$1,025.00

For Teens looking to find community and build their skills LandWise offers the Teen Wilderness Skills Training Course which runs weekly, meeting once a week on Wednesdays. It will run August to December and January to May with registration by semester. These students will learn risk management, survival skills like friction fire and shelter building, knife and tool use, but will also take deep dives into areas of interest to them to push their skills. All program days are outdoors and have a slightly more relaxed schedule than the youth adventure collective day. Arrival times run 9am-9:45 drop off and the day ends with pick up between 3:30-4:15. There will be several optional field trips where the teens do not meet at the Wimberley Campus, but meet instead at one of several local wild spaces to learn a particular skill set- think wild clay harvesting and processing, foraging for a specific species, or learning a technical skill like reading river currents, distance backpacking or setting top ropes for climbing. Wilderness First Aid training will be part of the curriculum for this course as well as Leave No Trace education. In a world that frequently looks at teens as less capable than they are we want to honor their abilities and support their goals with a focus on preparing the participants to be able to safely adventure as they move towards independence.

Weekly Program for Teens

Fall- Multi-Day River Expedition

Winter- Intro to Backpacking Overnight

Spring-  Survival Skills Overnight

In the weeks leading up to the course there are two to three Saturday meet ups with the group to learn skills, expedition behaviors, expectations, and engage with course materials. This gives participants time to gain comfort with the group, practice skills prior to the trip and get familiar with gear before hitting the backcountry.

The Fall 2026 Teen Expidition is Registering now. It will be Intro to Texas Multi-Day River Running

This three-day teen expedition utilizes rivers as our dynamic classrooms. By day, teens push their limits as they navigate moving water, learn essential saftey and risk management skills, and read the river's currents. Through overcoming on-water challenges, participants build resilience and teamwork and strengthen relationships through active communication. In the evenings, the focus shifts to backcountry living where teens set up camp, fish, swim, and cook together over an open fire.

After the course participants will have the skills necessary to plan an active part in planning, outfitting, rationing, and executing a multi-day river trip on the iconic rivers of Texas.
