Reclaim an ancient human skill. Join a lineage that stretches back into darkness by learning to call fire up from sticks. It is beautiful, it is magical and it doesn’t have to be hard as they make it look on TV- at least not the sunny, dry Texas Hill Country. Come learn how to select local materials for a friction fire kit, carve and use a bow drill kit and then step beyond bow drill to take a look at other friction fire methods.
All classess will be held in our covered open-air outdoor classroom or on the land. Students should come prepared for the weather conditions. Sunscreen, bug spray and closed toed shoes are suggested. Participants should bring their own water bottle, lunch and camp chair.
We will provide fixed blade bushcraft knives for use during this course but if you would like to purchase your own we have a great basic one availible in our store.
